Greater Decatur Chamber announces the 55th Annual Community Thanksgiving Luncheon, sponsored by AmerenIP, to be held on Tuesday, November 20. Lorelei Zimmer, past Chairman of the Board for Greater Decatur Chamber will deliver this year's Thanksgiving Narrative.
Since 1953 the Chamber of Commerce for Decatur & Macon County has called the community together annually to offer thanks for the blessings of the year. New community leaders and social service clubs are honored, and foreign exchange students are recognized and introduced to the American Thanksgiving tradition. The luncheon has drawn a capacity crowd each year.
“The Community Thanksgiving Luncheon is a Decatur tradition like no other,” said Randy Prince, President of Greater Decatur Chamber, “At no other time does such a diverse group of people gather for the sole purpose of giving thanks for the blessings of our community. We're also very pleased that AmerenIP will once again be the sole sponsor of the event.”
The noon luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 20 at the Decatur Civic Center. Doors to the Civic Center open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets cost $18.
